CARING FOR SOMEONE ELSE

Caring for someone who is ill or disabled or has a drug or alcohol problem (for example a parent or someone else in your family) can be difficult, lonely, rewarding or exhausting. The Young Carers Service is for young carers under 18, and can give you support and practical help and advice, as well as helping you get support for the person you are caring for. They also run LAFFS - a youth group for young carers that meets once a month.

York and District Mind can give you support if you are caring for someone with a mental health problem or illness; offering emotional support and a counselling service.
